India defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets in the 17th match of the 2023 Cricket World Cup, thanks to brilliant catches from KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja. Rahul took a stunning catch at the boundary to dismiss Litton Das, while Jadeja took a reflex catch at point to dismiss Mushfiqur Rahim.

Bangladesh was well-placed at 180/3 in the 40th over, but Rahul’s catch to dismiss Das turned the match in India’s favor. Das was batting well on 66, but he mistimed a shot off the bowling of Jasprit Bumrah. Rahul ran to the boundary and took a spectacular diving catch to dismiss Das.

Jadeja’s catch to dismiss Rahim was even more impressive. Rahim was playing cautiously on 38, but he tried to hit a big shot off the bowling of Mohammed Shami. Jadeja dived to his right and took a reflex catch to dismiss Rahim.

India’s fielding was excellent throughout the match, but there were two catches in particular that stood out. In the 28th over, Rahul took a stunning diving catch at point to dismiss Mushfiqur Rahim for 38. Rahim had played a well-paced innings, but Rahul’s catch was a turning point in the match.

In the 43rd over, Jadeja took an equally impressive catch at point to dismiss Mahmudullah Riyad for 49. Mahmudullah had looked dangerous, but Jadeja’s catch put India in firm control of the match.

India’s batsmen then chased down the target with ease, winning by seven wickets with 10 balls to spare. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill put on a 103-run opening partnership, and Virat Kohli finished the match off with a flourish, scoring an unbeaten 97.

India bundled out Bangladesh for 256/8 after Rahul and Jadeja’s catches. Then chased down the target with ease, thanks to a brilliant unbeaten century from Virat Kohli.


Rahul and Jadeja’s catches were crucial moments in the match, and they helped India to victory. India’s bowlers also played a key role in restricting Bangladesh to 256, and Kohli’s century was the highlight of India’s batting performance.
